You know that's not true! The HOA is the one sending the landscaping letters, not the Suncadia Developer itself. Two different companies. And I know I've been paying my water and sewer bills, so I wonder who's been using that money for other uses.
I happen to agree with the HOA about the mowing and it does state in the CC&Rs that the landscape is to remain native outside 20% of the buildable area.

No wonder they can't pay the water or water treatment bills. Suncadia is spending its money policing the landscaping of homeowners to be sure they aren't mowing more than once a year.

I am a long time resident and homeowner in the city of Cle Elum. Over the years, I have been involved with the city in one way or another, and I can tell you that I have seen more than one residential water main shut off after a warning about paying the bill. Not only do they have to pay the bill to regain water service, they have to pay a "reconnect" fee at the same time.
I can tell you that this is not a "threat" by the city, it is a "promise".
If I were a home owner, I would be at the next HOA meeting demanding some answers from the top brass at Suncadia. I believe that is who you pay your utilities bill to, not the city. They should have the utility money they collect earmarked for just that. Looks like they are using that money to bail themselves out of other tight spots. You home owners should not have to suffer for their mis manegement of their money.

Suncadia is not current to the City of Cle Elum on water and sewer payments. this is a concern because while Suncadia "runs" a utility company, its Cle Elum who provides us with all of our water and sewer! We're making payments to Suncadia...but is the City going to shut us off since they are not getting paid?

OK.... most of these Suncadia blogs that I find are about 1 year since they have been active. Our family is considering a vacation property purchase within Suncadia. I am a little scared to DEATH when I read some of these postings from 2009- 2010. People talking about the resort failing to follow through with the original build/vision that was given to home owners. Poor management of existing facilities, etc.
So currently it is October 2011.... we are meeting with a realtor this weekend..... I can only expect honest answers from homeowners like yourselves. What is the current financial health of Suncadia? Bankruptcy, unfinished resort facilities, etc? or are you all past that? Final golf course built, etc. etc.

The question I have is how is the Fire Fuel on our lots going to be treated? How will
it be disposed of. Will owners bring the brush, logs, twigs etc. to the street or will
each owner be responsible to dispose it?

Interesting that no one posted when the facilities payment was made to the city. I heard that all it took was a simple call to Roger (resort mgr).
Your water was never in jeopardy of being shut off either. Thanks to the lower county paper drumming up a big story, if they had gotten it right in the first place it could have saved all the angst.
If I hear of a problem and am concerned about it I just make a call to the association or Suncadia management to get an answer. Many should do the same.
